Hessle High School and Sixth Form College is a very successful, heavily oversubscribed 11-18 Specialist Science College.

We have recently invested a great deal of financial and training commitment into our ICT facilities. Providing us with a modern and efficient communication and teaching and learning resource. Our ICT facilities are greatly appreciated by staff, students and parents as they make learning and information accessible both at school and at home. However, not content with our progress so far, we are working hard to ensure our communication and parental engagement in children’s learning is second to none in the coming academic year.

Hessle High School has a consistent record of increasing exam passes, with 76% of students achieving A* – C grades at GCSE in 2008 and 98% of Advanced Level students passing their chosen courses, with a high proportion moving onto to Higher education. Indeed in 2008 we were recognised in the top 15 improving schools nationally, a high accolade.

Academic success is achieved for all students regardless of their starting point. We have high aspirations for all our students. By setting challenging targets and providing an innovative curriculum our mentoring system supports young people throughout their time with us.

We recognise that exam successes alone are not enough to equip young people for our ever changing society. A varied programme of enrichment activities and extra curricular opportunities, promoted by our Student Council and Extended Schools provision provides a wealth of experience for all young people.

Our inclusive nature recognised nationally by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust means at Hessle High School every child really does matter.

Best Wishes

Mrs Young
