Student Testimonials

Tom Pallant – Head Boy

“Throughout my school career, I have always wanted to achieve the best and reach my full potential. This has been made possible by the encouraging and supportive staff. I was very proud when I was accepted onto the Hessle High Student Council. This has allowed me to express my opinions on events happening in the school and in the local community. I think this school is great in the way it encourages students to do their best, providing a calm and relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for study. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the great staff; who’s hard word and persistence allows students to be the best that they can be”

Lydia Michie – Head Girl

The years I have spent as a student at Hessle High have been imperative not only to my development as a student but to the person I have now become. The high standard of teaching and care given by the staff has allowed me to mature and grow intellectually and has helped to direct me towards the successes and achievements that I am proud of today. As Head Girl I have been given the honour of representing the school that I love and the students that make it what it is. Not only do I feel privileged to have been given this opportunity but I am also able to say that my time as a member of the Sixth Form has undoubtedly been the best of my life. The closeness of the students both with each other and with the staff is something that the sixth form can boast without question and I believe that this ‘community feel’ is an essential foundation in preparing students for their future both in education and beyond. Not only can the Sixth Form be proud of its outstanding academic achievements but the opportunities and experiences it offers along the way are what form the fond memories that every current and past student will hold forever.

Richard McCoid – Deputy Head Boy

Now that I am in my final year at Hessle High School, I can look back on the past 6 years with fond memories. The School has given me the best possible chance to achieve academically and be part of a great community from Year 7, right through to the Sixth Form. In particular I think that Hessle High offers great Education to any student that attends the school. This is through a combination of dedicated teachers and an excellent environment to learn in, both inside and outside of the classroom. For all of these reasons the decision to stay on at Hessle High Sixth Form College was an easy one to make. The chance to carry on for a further two years and continue my education in a school that has offered me so much was something that I eagerly anticipated. One year on I am certain the decision was correct!

Stephanie Wright – Federation Ambassador.

As federation ambassador I not only get to gain benefits from Hessle High but I have the pleasure of working with Penshurst Primary School. This is such a great opportunity which wouldn’t have been possible without the chances given to me throughout my years here. My time at Hessle High has been truly amazing in all aspects. Going on to college was never an option for me as the dedication and effort of the teachers has been significant to my development. I am sure many other students would agree with me. My experience at the school has been filled with many memorable moments. The pure hard work and the quality of teaching, I think shines through the students and shows just how much of an incredible school Hessle High really is.
